Any CASA program staff member, volunteer, foster parent, or partner agency staff member may submit an application requesting funds for a foster child or youth. Requests are approved by the Friends of CASA board members on a case by case basis and when funding permits. The Friends of CASA board members will determine if a request aligns with the purpose of the Lullaby Fund and a decision will be made. Funds will be distributed within 30 days of the receipt of the request in check or gift card formats only. Checks will be made to a specific vendor (i.e., the recreation center, school for extracurricular activities, store where the school supplies will be purchased). Checks will NOT be made out to individual CASA volunteers or individual CASA program staff unless a pre-approved arrangement is made to purchase the item prior to the request, which at that point a receipt for the item purchased must be submitted. Friends of CASA reserves the right to approve and/or deny any grant request that does not align with our mission. Friends of CASA does not support any item or activity that is dangerous, harmful, discriminating, or is not in the best interest of the child.
Once the funds have been distributed, the grant requestor and/or the foster child/youth will send a thank you letter to the Friends of CASA of Ottawa County. These letters will be shared with the Friends of CASA sponsors and supporters. No identifying information of the foster child/youth will be shared with anyone outside the Friends of CASA organization or CASA Program.
